Cory has a poster in his room that has an area of 7 2/3 sq. inches and a length of 2/3 inches. how many inches is the width of the poster?

convert 7 and 2/3 to improper fraction for convenience
7 and 2/3=23/3
23/3=2/3 times width

multiply both sides by 3/2 to clear fraction
69/6=width
23/2=width

widht=7 and 1/2 in
